Natural disasters pt2
Natural disasters can be very scary, but there are ways we
can stay safe from them. First, we can learn all about it. Teachers and parents can tell us what to do in
case they happen one day. Schools do drills to practice what to do and be in a
safety area. Families should also have a safety plan so that they know where to
go and who to call if something bad happens. It’s smart to choose a safe
meeting place in case family get separated. You can also make an emergency kit
with enough food, water, flashlights, batteries, and other things we might need
for a couple of days and enough people you can even add a favorite toy or book
to feel better and calmer. If a disaster
is coming, we should listen to the news they give us all the information needed
in what’s happening. After a disaster, people might need help, and we can be
kind and share what we have. Firefighters,
doctors, and police helped a lot. Kids can help by listening, staying calm, and
helping others feel better. Even though natural disasters can be hard for most
people we can always be prepared and help each other to stay safe. Many people
also loose family members because they don’t have a plan or stay in unsafe
areas when these events happen. That’s why it is important to follow and listen
to others. TV, radios, and WAK taking are extra resources that humans can use
during times like these. They help stay in touch with people and with what is going
on, when it’s safe to come back, and when to leave the area. If you’re told to
leave you should listen. We can all follow rules and help each other to stay
safe and alive during these times.
